InMail
LinkedIn InMail automation that sends free InMails to open profiles first
Reach people you aren’t connected to without waiting for an invitation. ReachPods checks each lead for an open profile, sends free InMails within LinkedIn’s monthly cap, only spends paid credits when you allow it, and skips gracefully when there’s nothing left.

Overview
InMail without the credit anxiety
InMail is the only way to message someone on LinkedIn without being connected or sharing a group. It’s also expensive: credits come in small monthly batches with premium plans, and most automation tools spend them blindly.
Many LinkedIn members have an open profile, which means anyone can InMail them for free. ReachPods knows which of your leads have one, from your Sales Navigator import or from a profile visit, and the Send InMail step uses that to send for free whenever it can. LinkedIn caps free InMails at 800 per account per month; ReachPods tracks that cap and spreads sending at a sensible daily pace.
Free-only mode is on by default, so the step never touches your paid credits. Turn it off and closed profiles use a credit, each account shows its remaining balance, and a sender with no credits simply skips the step and the lead moves on.
Open profiles
Free LinkedIn InMails for every lead with an open profile
Before an InMail is sent, the lead’s open-profile status is checked. Open profiles receive the InMail at no cost, and the send is counted against the account’s monthly free InMail cap (800) and a daily pace (40 by default) that stretches it across the month.
Every InMail has a subject and a body, both personalised with variables, spintax, AI variables and A/B variants, plus attachments like any other message.

- 800 / month cap tracked per account
- Daily pace to stretch the cap

Free-only mode
Free-only InMail campaigns that route everyone else to an invitation
With free only (open profiles) switched on, the InMail step only messages open profiles. Pair it with the open profile? condition and build two branches: a free InMail for open profiles, a connection request with a note for everyone else.
It’s the cheapest way to start a conversation with senior people who rarely accept invitations from strangers: no credits, no pending invitations, and a full-length message instead of a 300-character note.
- Never spends paid credits
- “Open profile?” condition
- Invitation branch for the rest

Find open profiles
Build InMail lists of open profiles from Sales Navigator searches
When you import a Sales Navigator search, filter it to Open Profile only before the import starts. Combine with Premium only, connection degree and skip pending invitations to end up with a list where every lead can receive a free InMail.
Profile visits also read open-profile status, so leads from any source become InMail-ready after a visit step.

Paid credits
Paid InMail credits, tracked per account and never overspent
If you allow paid InMails, closed profiles use one of the sender’s credits. Each LinkedIn account shows its remaining InMail balance, and paid InMails have their own daily limit (20 by default).
When a sender has no credits left, the step is skipped and the lead continues to the next step, instead of failing the whole sequence.
- Live credit balance per account
- Daily limit for paid InMails
- Skip, don’t fail, at zero credits

FAQ
LinkedIn InMail automation: questions and answers
Something else on your mind? Get started and try it on your own accounts.
What is a LinkedIn open profile?
An open profile is a setting some LinkedIn members (usually Premium) enable so that anyone can send them an InMail for free, even without a connection.
How many free InMails can I send?
LinkedIn caps free InMails to open profiles at 800 per account per month. ReachPods tracks the cap and paces sending at about 40 per day by default.
Will ReachPods spend my paid InMail credits?
Not by default. Free-only mode is on, so only open profiles are messaged. If you turn it off, closed profiles use a credit.
What happens when I run out of credits?
The InMail step is skipped for that lead and the lead continues to the next step. Nothing fails.
Do I need Sales Navigator for InMail automation?
No, but Sales Navigator searches make it easy to import only open profiles, and premium plans include paid InMail credits.
