Number checker

A WhatsApp number checker built into every outreach step

Lead lists are full of landlines, old numbers and people who don’t use WhatsApp. ReachPods checks each number against WhatsApp with one of your connected accounts before the first message, skips the ones that aren’t on it, caches the answer for 30 days and lets you branch the sequence on the result.

Overview

Stop messaging landlines

Phone numbers in a CRM export or a purchased list are a mixed bag: office landlines, switchboards, numbers that changed hands, people who never installed WhatsApp. Sending to them wastes your daily budget, fails steps and, worst of all, looks like spam to WhatsApp.

ReachPods verifies every number before it messages it. When a WhatsApp step is about to send its first message to a lead, the number is looked up on WhatsApp with one of your connected accounts. If it’s not on WhatsApp, the step is skipped and the lead simply continues to the next step in the flow.

The result is cached for 30 days, so the same number isn’t looked up again and again across campaigns. And because the check is also a condition, number on WhatsApp?, you can route those leads somewhere useful instead: email, a LinkedIn invitation or Telegram.

Verification

Check if a number is on WhatsApp before every first message

The check happens automatically on WhatsApp steps; there’s nothing to configure. Numbers are compared by their digits, so the formatting in your import doesn’t matter as long as the country code is there.

Skipped leads aren’t failures: they move on through the flow, and the reason is recorded on their timeline.

  • Automatic on WhatsApp steps
  • Uses one of your connected accounts
  • Skipped leads continue the flow
  • Reason on the lead timeline

Route leads with the “number on WhatsApp?” condition

Put a number on WhatsApp? condition in front of your WhatsApp steps to choose what happens to everyone else. A typical flow sends WhatsApp users a message and voice note, checks has email? for the rest, and falls back to a LinkedIn invitation when there’s no email either.

Caching

WhatsApp number verification results cached for 30 days

Each answer is cached for 30 days. Re-running a campaign, or enrolling the same lead in another one, reuses the cached result instead of looking the number up again.

  • 30-day cache
  • Shared across campaigns
  • Fewer lookups per account

FAQ

WhatsApp number checker: questions and answers

Something else on your mind? Get started and try it on your own accounts.

How does the WhatsApp number check work?

Before the first WhatsApp message to a lead, the number is looked up on WhatsApp with one of your connected accounts. If it isn’t on WhatsApp, the step is skipped.

How long are results cached?

30 days.

What format should phone numbers be in?

Include the country code. Numbers are compared by their digits, so spaces, dashes and plus signs don’t matter.

What happens to numbers that aren’t on WhatsApp?

The WhatsApp step is skipped and the lead continues through the flow. Use the “number on WhatsApp?” condition to send them to another channel.

Can I check numbers without sending a message?

Yes. A “number on WhatsApp?” condition checks the number and branches without sending anything.
